A boldly-patterned, long-legged, brown, black, and white lapwing. |
Adult: |
Black cap, throat and belly contrasting with white face and neck. Body shows uniformly-colored black and brown areas. Black flight feathers and tail visible in flight. |
Juvenile: |
Pale edges on feathers of upperparts. |
Behavior: |
Often sits with hunched posture. Easily disturbed and can be very vocal. |
Habitat: |
Sparsely vegetated shores, shallow wetlands, irrigated fields. |

Invertebrates. |
