Description: |
White supercilium, dark legs. Gray with brown tint above; off-white tips to secondary coverts. |
Adult (Breeding): |
Bill black; underparts white with pink on throat, breast and flanks. |
Adult (Non-breeding): |
Browner with more streaking overall; yellow at base of bill. |
Similar Species: |
Differs from Meadow and Red-throated Pipits by larger size, less streaking, and darker legs. |
Behavior: |
Prominent, frequent song-flight. |
Habitat: |
Alpine and subalpine meadows in summer; lower elevations near water in winter. |

Invertebrates, seeds. |
