Description:	White supercilium, dark legs. Gray with brown tint above; off-white tips to secondary coverts.
Adult (Breeding):	Bill black; underparts white with pink on throat, breast and flanks.
Adult (Non-breeding):	Browner with more streaking overall; yellow at base of bill.
Similar Species:	Differs from Meadow and Red-throated Pipits by larger size, less streaking, and darker legs.
Behavior:	Prominent, frequent song-flight.
Habitat:	Alpine and subalpine meadows in summer; lower elevations near water in winter.
Food:	Invertebrates, seeds.
Nest:	Grassy cup on ground.
Eggs:	21 mm, 4-6, gray-white, brown and grayish-violet spots.
