Description: |
Stout bunting with black, brown, and white pattern. |
Adult (Non-breeding): |
White innerwing contrasts with dark outerwing in flight; brownish crown and back. Mostly white outertail feathers. Orange-brown and off-white head and dark-tipped pale bill. Male is whiter than female, especially on underparts and head. Black and white plumage in spring revealed by abrasion of the feather tips. |
Similar Species: |
Differs from White-winged Snowfinch by orange-brown and off-white head, and broad pale edges on dark upperparts. |
